NASA and the Technology Collaboration Center are holding an Advanced Manufacturing & Materials Workshop, at the NASA Johnson Space Center, on June 14, 2017, covering a broad range of advanced materials and manufacturing topics.


This event will bring together organizations needing or developing new advanced manufacturing or materials-related technologies, with presentations on the latest technology advances and unmet challenges, in a format providing an opportunity for participants to network and explore potential partnerships.


Topic areas that may be covered at this event include:

  • Verification of additive manufacturing for use
  • Policy for use of additive manufacturing
  • Cybersecurity for manufacturing
  • Advanced materials, painting, coatings, … (including 3d printable materials for thermal protection)
  • Infrastructure for advanced manufacturing
  • Non-destructive evaluation & inspection
  • Additive manufacturing in space, for medical devices/drugs
  • Role of additive manufacturing in supply chain
  • Scaling from low to high volume; from small to large size
  • Range of target environments – hostile, medical, office, …
  • New developments in advanced manufacturing devices


Any organization can request to make a presentation on their latest advanced manufacturing/materials technologies or needs at the event. The deadline for submitting a presentation request is noon, May 31, unless all presentation slots have been allocated earlier.

Event tickets are $25 for TCC members, and $50 for non-members. Details on the event agenda and location will be provided to registered attendees, within a week of the event.
